Prayer Meeting

We come together to bring our burdens, thanksgivings, and intercessions before God, persevering in prayer as the early believers did.

"And they persevered in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles, in breaking of bread and prayers."Acts 2:42
Bible Study

An in-depth study of the Scriptures, searching the Word together and building one another up in the faith.

"Receiving the word with all readiness of mind, daily searching the scriptures if these things were so."Acts 17:11
"Every Scripture is divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."2 Timothy 3:16
Regarding the Lord's Supper

We recognise that the church is in a state of ruin, and thus seek to keep a guarded table. We welcome genuine interest in seeking to gather simply to the name of The Lord.

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"Amos 3:3
"Be watchful, and strengthen the things that remain…"Revelation 3:2
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, if they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world."1 John 4:1

About Us

We are Christians from various backgrounds who gather in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, and we are convinced that the Bible is as relevant and life-giving today as it has ever been. In its pages we find answers to the most fundamental questions of life — and especially to the crucial questions of salvation, security, and the meaning of life.

We have found all of this through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again, we have received forgiveness and peace with God. This is not merely a theory — it is something each of us has personally experienced. We believe the Lord Jesus also desires to give your life meaning and purpose, and we would be glad to share more with you in person.

Our Faith

Our faith is based solely on the Bible — the unique book through which God reveals Himself to humanity and sets out His standards for our lives.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."John 3:16

The Assembly

The Bible regards everyone whose sins are forgiven through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a member of the one worldwide Church of God. This is formed by all true Christians on earth, regardless of which denomination or Christian circle they belong to.

The terms "congregation," "church," and "assembly" all ultimately describe the same reality — the totality of all born-again Christians. The New Testament was originally written in Greek; the word translated as "church" or "assembly" is ekklesia, meaning "called out." God has called people out of their former ways of life in order to gather them together on a new basis — in Christ.

The church is not an organisation or a building; it is an organism made up of people who have been born again. We feel connected to all believers everywhere through Jesus Christ, our Saviour, who alone is the foundation and centre of His assembly.

The New Testament also knows another aspect of God's worldwide church: the church at a certain place. It represents the worldwide church of God and becomes visible when the local assembly comes together in one place. We would like to present this biblical truth through our meetings.

"…the assembly of God which is in Corinth, to [those] sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both theirs and ours."1 Corinthians 1:2

Everyone is cordially invited. You are also welcome to contact us beforehand.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."1 John 1:9
